Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver precise radiographic and sonographic exams across all body parts for accurate diagnostics
Apply radiation protection principles with professional judgment
Maintain detailed patient records and drive departmental quality assurance
Perform specialized mammography procedures including breast needle localization, specimen radiography, screening, diagnostic, and stereotactic breast biopsy
Handle CT and interventional tasks like equipment care, invasive procedure assistance, venipuncture, and contrast management
Pursue continuing education and adapt to new imaging modalities as needed
Respond to on-call within 20 minutes and support team in high-stress situations

Qualifications

Current ARRT in Radiography
BLS certification within 45 days of start
Clinical Competency required within 3 months and every three years
Experience performing diagnostic exams in assigned modality
Tech levels based on certifications in multiple modalities like CT, MR, MG, NM, ARDMS, RVT, or RDCS

Education

Clinical competency in radiography and mammography/CT

Knowledge & Skills

Diagnostic medical radiography and sonography expertise
Radiation protection and patient safety principles
Patient records maintenance and quality assurance
Mammography specifics including ACR/FDA requirements
CT/interventional procedures with sterile technique and contrast protocols
Ability to assess patient needs across all age groups from newborn to geriatric
