Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate nursing care to pediatric clinic patients within the scope of LPN licensure
- Take and accurately record vital signs and patient observations
- Triage patient calls and coordinate appropriate follow-up with providers
- Process medication refills and complete necessary prior authorizations
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and providers to ensure continuity of care
- Give direction to CNAs and schedulers and collaborate with RNs, providers, and clinical managers
- Document patient encounters and care plans thoroughly and professionally
Qualifications
- Current State LPN license required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Comfortable performing triage, medication refills, and prior authorizations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team
Education
- Graduate of a Nursing Program (LPN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care and pediatric nursing best practices
- Vital signs collection and interpretation
- Triage protocols and telephone triage experience
- Prior authorizations and medication refill workflows
- Care coordination and team collaboration
- Documentation standards and charting
- Supervision and direction of CNAs and scheduling staff
