IR Technologist (Interventional Radiology)

Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 06-17-2026

End Date: 09-16-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with rotational call after hours and weekend call from Friday 4:00 PM to Monday 7:30 AM

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $83 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform interventional radiology procedures including dialysis catheter placements, IVC filter insertions, TIPS procedures, and CT-guided biopsies
Operate GE Innova and MedRad injector equipment with precision and care
Assist radiologists during diagnostic and therapeutic interventional cases
Maintain a sterile environment and ensure patient safety throughout procedures
Document procedures accurately in Cerner and RadNet EMR systems
Participate in on-call rotation covering nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

ARRT certification in Radiography (RT)(R) required; VI certification preferred
Experience in interventional radiology is highly valued
Proficiency with Cerner and RadNet EMR systems
Ability to handle a variety of patient populations, including inmate patients (no pediatrics)
Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of interventional radiology procedures and protocols
Skilled in operating GE Innova, MedRad Injector, GE Logic Book, and Angiojet equipment
Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Proficient in electronic medical records documentation
