Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Silver Spring, MD

Shift Type: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Shift 2). Specific days not listed; evening shift (schedule to be confirmed)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility
Observe and report changes in residents condition to the nursing team promptly
Support safe and respectful mealtime assistance and hydration monitoring
Contribute to a clean, safe environment by following infection control practices
Collaborate with fellow staff to create individualized, person-centered care plans

Qualifications

Current GNA certification or equivalent credential as indicated by the job class
Current CPR or BLS certification preferred
Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
Demonstrated compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
Comfortable working as part of a team in a long-term care setting

Education

High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Basic resident care techniques and safe patient handling
Familiarity with common geriatric needs and communication strategies
Observation and documentation skills to report resident changes accurately
Ability to follow established care plans and facility protocols
Good teamwork and the ability to collaborate with nurses and other care staff
