Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric patients, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Perform safe transfers and mobility assistance using proper body mechanics
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support mealtime assistance and basic feeding when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and patient interactions
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and families

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience working with geriatric or long-term care patients is a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to pass facility background checks and any required health screenings
• Dependable attendance and a professional, compassionate bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and infection control practices
• Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Ability to follow care plans and document accurately
• Strong observational skills to notice changes in patient status
• Customer-service mindset when interacting with patients and families
• Time management skills to prioritize tasks during a busy shift
