Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Lanham, MD

Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift; days not specified)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and assistive devices
Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
Document care and observations accurately and timely according to facility protocols
Collaborate with the care team to help implement individualized care plans
Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment that promotes resident dignity

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (required)
High school diploma or GED preferred
CPR/BLS certification preferred
Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong communication skills
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

GNA certification required; high school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Basic clinical skills: measuring vital signs and assisting with ADLs
Familiarity with documentation/charting practices
Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication
Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
