Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Provide safe transfer and mobility support to help residents stay as independent as possible
• Take and record vital signs, reporting any changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided
• Support infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Build positive relationships with residents and families through compassionate communication
• Collaborate with nursing staff to implement individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Maryland GNA certification or equivalent (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements (immunizations, TB screening)
• Comfortable working night shifts and providing hands-on resident care
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as a per diem team member
• Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of resident-centered care and geriatric needs
• Proficient in safe transfer techniques and mobility assistance
• Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and team members
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes effectively
