Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Baltimore, MD

Shift Type: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift; exact days to be scheduled with hiring team)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Support safe transfers and mobility assistance while following proper body mechanics
Monitor residents’ conditions and report changes promptly to the nursing team
Document care activities accurately and maintain clear communication with teammates
Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful living environment for residents
Participate in care planning and contribute observations that improve resident outcomes

Qualifications

Valid GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
Active Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant credential or eligibility to obtain one
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Comfortable working with older adults and those with chronic conditions
Reliable, compassionate, and able to work collaboratively as part of a care team

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
Familiarity with infection control and safe care practices
Strong observational skills and attention to documentation detail
Good communication skills with residents, families, and staff
Ability to follow care plans and accept direction from licensed nurses
