Location: Bismarck, ND

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM (with early start at 6:00 AM for Open Heart prep, plus call rotation: weeknights 3:15 PM - 6:45 AM, every other to every third weekend)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform surgical scrub duties in CVOR, ensuring sterile technique
Assist in open heart surgeries including CABG, valve repairs, and aneurysms
Prepare operating rooms and sterile equipment for each procedure
Collaborate with surgical team to maintain patient safety
Float to general OR for orthopedic or general cases when CV volumes are low
Participate in on-call rotation for emergency surgeries
Float to floor as a 1:1 patient sitter to supplement hours when needed

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT certification
BLS certification
North Dakota UAP registration
Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience with open heart cases
Ability to first scrub in open heart surgeries
Willingness to cross-train to general OR and float to patient sitting
Must be willing to work holidays and rotating call

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in sterile technique and OR procedures
Knowledge of CVOR equipment and open heart surgery instruments
Experience with robotic surgery (ION) and Stryker towers
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to adapt to changing case volumes
