Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver precise radiographic examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation
Apply professional judgment while upholding radiation protection principles
Perform diagnostic medical radiography across departments and areas
Maintain accurate patient records and files
Lead departmental quality assurance efforts
Pursue ongoing continuing education for skill enhancement
Safely transfer patients to and from radiology
Step up to manage the department in supervisor's absence
Rotate shifts and perform ancillary duties as requested

Qualifications

Current ARRT in Radiography certification
Clinical competency within 3 months of hire and every three years
Experience performing all diagnostic exams in assigned modality
Ability to work well under stress and respond to on-call within 20 minutes
Willingness to learn additional imaging modalities like CT, MRI, Mammography

Education

Current ARRT in Radiography (Tech I); ARRT in two modalities/ARDMS for Tech II; three for Tech III; four for Tech IV

Knowledge & Skills

Principles of growth and development across all patient ages from newborn to geriatric
Age-specific care adjustments for pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients
Sterile technique and venipuncture skills
Tele-radiology transmission competency
Equipment care and quality control procedures
Invasive procedure assistance and contrast management
