Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living to preserve dignity and comfort
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition, vital signs, and behaviors to the nursing team
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote patient safety
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
- Support infection prevention practices and maintain a clean, safe environment for patients
Qualifications
- Active CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) credential; Pennsylvania certification preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills, compassion, and a patient-first attitude
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting and assisting patients as needed
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skills in basic patient care and hygiene assistance
- Familiarity with vital signs, patient positioning, and mobility support
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy setting
