Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and assist residents with activities of daily living
Take and record vital signs, observe changes, and promptly report them to the nursing team
Support safe patient transfers and mobility, ensuring respect and dignity at all times
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident status
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver excellent care
Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
Active authorization to work in Connecticut and ability to meet state licensing requirements
Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
Comfort with basic patient care tasks and safe lifting/transfer techniques
Willingness to complete facility-required background checks and health screenings

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

Practical knowledge of ADLs, vital signs, and basic patient care
Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
Good observational skills and ability to report clinical changes clearly
Teamwork and effective communication with patients, families, and staff
Dependability, attention to detail, and time-management in a clinical setting
