Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility support
Monitor and document vital signs and resident changes accurately and promptly
Communicate resident needs and observations to the nursing team and families
Help maintain a safe, clean, and respectful living environment for residents
Support resident nutrition and hydration, including feeding assistance when needed
Participate in team huddles and follow care plans to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

Current CNA certification valid in Connecticut (required)
CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required upon hire)
Compassionate patient-care focus and strong communication skills
Ability to stand, lift, and assist residents as part of daily duties
Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus but not always required

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing care
Infection control and safe patient handling practices
Accurate documentation and basic charting skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
