Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
Assist nursing staff with routine tasks and ensure patient comfort and safety
Monitor and report changes in patients’ condition promptly and accurately
Document care provided in accordance with facility policies and standards
Collaborate with the care team to create a positive, healing environment
Maintain infection control practices and follow safety protocols at all times

Qualifications

Valid CNA certification (required) — must meet Connecticut regulatory requirements
Current BLS/CPR certification (preferred or obtained upon hire where required)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a caring, patient-focused approach
Ability to perform physical aspects of the role (e.g., assisting with transfers)
Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively within a team

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility)
Knowledge of basic infection control and patient safety practices
Comfortable with charting and basic documentation procedures
Able to follow care plans and report clinical observations effectively
Good time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
