Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility and toileting while promoting dignity
• Take and record vital signs and observe changes in condition, reporting concerns to the nursing team
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts and care plans
• Support safe transfers and positioning, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and families

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (listed as Certified Nursing Assistant) required
• Active/state-appropriate CNA credential or ability to obtain NJ certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working evening shifts and delivering hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing care
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling techniques
• Accurate documentation and basic charting skills
• Ability to observe, report, and escalate changes in resident condition
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
• Empathy, patience, and effective communication with residents and families
