Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living
• Perform timely, accurate vital signs and document findings in the patient record
• Support safe transfers, mobility assistance, and fall-prevention protocols
• Communicate clearly with nurses, therapists, and families about patient needs and changes
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection prevention guidelines
• Assist with meal service and monitor intake, reporting concerns to nursing staff

Qualifications

• Current CNA or T-CNA certification (required)
• Valid CNA certification or ability to obtain state recognition for New Mexico
• Current basic life support/CPR certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required immunizations
• Comfortable working early morning day shifts and standing for extended periods
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude

Education

• Completion of an approved CNA training program or T-CNA coursework
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Reliable vital signs collection and basic clinical observation skills
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Clear charting and handoff communication
• Basic knowledge of infection control and HIPAA privacy practices
• Teamwork, adaptability, and a calm presence in busy situations
