Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and peripheral vascular procedures to enable accurate imaging and patient diagnosis
• Prepare patients and procedure rooms, ensuring consent, documentation, and infection control protocols are in place prior to procedure start
• Operate x-ray equipment and fluoroscopy safely and independently while maintaining strict radiation safety compliance
• Obtain and ensure hemostasis post-procedure and assist with procedure room turnover following Infection Control standards
• Accurately monitor and document procedures in the MacLab system and maintain thorough procedure documentation
• Administer intra-coronary medications per Bayhealth and unit policies and support the clinical team during procedures
• Participate in professional development activities, maintain required certifications, and complete the four-month onboarding fellowship

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences or accredited program graduate in Cardiovascular Technology required (Bachelor's in Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology preferred)
• RCIS required if graduate of Cardiovascular Technology program; ARRT (RT) required if graduate of Radiologic Technologist program (obtain within 4 months if not already held)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required (obtain within 90 days if not already obtained)
• Minimum 18 months diagnostic radiology experience OR completion of accredited radiologic or cardiovascular program with program director and preceptor recommendation
• Preferred: 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience performing diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures; prior EP or interventional lab experience is a plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences OR Associate Degree/graduate from accredited Cardiovascular Technology program (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization and peripheral vascular procedure skills
• Fluoroscopy operation and radiation safety practices
• Proficiency with MacLab documentation and procedure documentation
• Sterile technique, patient monitoring, and hemostasis management
• Familiarity with intra-coronary medication administration and cath lab workflows
• Comfort working in fast-paced procedural environments and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
