Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality adult and geriatric care across MS-Tele and specialty float units, delivering safe, patient-centered nursing
• Monitor telemetry and respond to cardiac and neurological changes using strong assessment skills
• Titrate heparin drips per protocol and manage common titratable infusions safely
• Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including RTs for vents/CPAP/BiPAP support and unit nursing leadership
• Float between facilities within Zone 3, adapting quickly to different unit workflows and patient populations
• Support charge nurses and assist with patient assignments as needed while maintaining assignment accountability
• Precept and orient when assigned, completing unit-specific orientation (1-2 days) to get up to speed

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to work in Colorado or compact license as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of MS-Telemetry nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• NIHSS certification required (for neuro patient assessments)
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and heparin titration
• Familiarity with EPIC charting strongly preferred
• Comfort floating across specialties (cardiac, neuro, oncology, rehab, renal, ortho, ED obs)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet weekend/holiday rotation needs

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and MS-Tele unit workflows
• Heparin drip titration and common titratable infusion management
• Neurological assessment skills (NIHSS) and neuro patient care
• Cardiac, post-surgical, oncology and general medicine patient management
• Use of EPIC electronic health record for documentation and care coordination
• Vent/CPAP/BiPAP familiarity and collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Strong clinical judgment with patient acuity triage (typical ratios 1:5-6 based on acuity)
• Flexibility, situational awareness, and strong communication for floating roles
