Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert peri-procedural nursing care for diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations
• Scrub and assist during high-acuity cardiac interventions, including TAVR and MitraClip cases
• Maintain accurate Cath Lab documentation using Cerner and Merge Hemodynamics
• Respond quickly and confidently to STEMI and chest pain activations as part of a tertiary referral center
• Collaborate with intensivists, IV team, RTs, pharmacy, and CV/Rad techs to deliver seamless patient care
• Participate in the on-call rotation and weekend coverage with professionalism and clinical readiness
• Ensure radiation safety practices are followed and wear provided radiation badge when required
• Contribute to unit performance and patient outcomes through proactive communication and problem solving

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (California) required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required
• Scrub experience in the Cath Lab highly preferred
• Familiarity with high-acuity cardiac devices and procedures such as TAVR, MitraClip, Impella, IVUS, Rotablator, Shockwave, and Balloon Pump
• Willingness to complete the Dys exam through UNA within 24-48 hours prior to contract signing (Relias Dys exam within 12 months accepted)
• Two supervisory references required at submittal: one within 12 months and one within 3 years
• Candidates may not have been employed by CommonSpirit-affiliated facilities within the past year; PRN through outside firms is acceptable
• Able to wear radiation badge (provided by agency) and work in a 3-room Cath Lab environment

Education

• Active RN license required
• Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN accepted; BSN not required for submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner electronic medical record and Merge Hemodynamics cath lab documentation
• Strong sterile technique and scrub skills for interventional cases
• Ability to manage high-acuity cardiac patients and rapidly deteriorating situations
• Competence with cardiac monitoring, hemodynamics, and peri-procedural nursing care
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced cath lab
• Familiarity with STEMI protocols and Chest Pain center workflows
