Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients thoroughly and develop individualized treatment plans that restore function and independence
• Deliver hands-on manual therapy and therapeutic exercise with compassion and clarity
• Monitor patient progress, adapt interventions, and document outcomes in the medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on home programs and safe mobility strategies
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and professional best practices
• Mentor and communicate effectively with support staff to maintain high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in Maryland or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred, or equivalent degree/certification
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain promptly)
• Strong clinical reasoning and experience with outpatient/rehab populations
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to meet credentialing requirements for a 13-week contract assignment

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master’s or Bachelor’s with equivalent credentials considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and gait training
• Familiarity with outcome measures and individualized care planning
• Comfortable using electronic medical records for documentation
• Knowledge of safe patient handling and mobility techniques
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers in clear, empathetic ways
• Time management and caseload prioritization in a fast-paced setting
