Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients during overnight hours
• Assess patient status, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following facility protocols
• Document patient care, observations, and changes thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective care
• Support patients and families with clear communication and education during transitions

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN license (Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse) - required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Comfort with overnight nursing responsibilities and independent decision-making
• Strong communication skills and ability to document care accurately
• Previous experience in acute care or long-term care is a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN: ADN or BSN; LPN: accredited practical nursing program)
• State licensure as an RN or LPN

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring
• Medication administration and safe IV/SC practices as appropriate to role
• Accurate charting and familiarity with electronic health records
• Infection control practices and patient safety focus
• Teamwork, prioritization, and time management during overnight shifts
