Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient condition, interpret findings, and respond with timely interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Provide compassionate patient and family education, clear instructions, and emotional support
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the patient record
• Escalate changes in patient status and participate in care planning and handoffs
• Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and facility policies to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license (RN or LPN); RN selected as primary title
• Active nursing license in Maine preferred — please have licensure available at time of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS as applicable is a plus
• Clinical experience in acute care or related nursing settings preferred
• Strong communication skills, reliable attendance, and a patient-first attitude

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, ASN, or Diploma)
• BSN preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Wound care and basic procedures relevant to assigned unit
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Ability to work independently overnight and escalate concerns as needed
• Teamwork, time management, and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
