Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Perform thorough assessments and develop nursing plans that make a difference
• Administer medications and therapies safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Maintain clear, timely EMR documentation and handoff communication
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly
• Support a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico (or compact RN licensure as applicable)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS or specialty certifications preferred
• Comfortable working in acute care / medical-surgical settings; previous clinical experience preferred
• Ability to work PRN/guarantee shifts and adapt to variable schedules
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Proficient with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Time management, prioritization, and multitasking in a fast-paced setting
• Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams
