Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, helping reduce fall risk and improve independence
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Provide compassionate dining assistance and mealtime support
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and observations
• Help create a warm, home-like environment that promotes resident comfort and well-being
• Participate in team huddles and coordinate with interdisciplinary staff to enhance resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification or equivalent nursing assistant credential
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to complete background checks
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations and skilled in compassionate care
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and procedures
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA/CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic patient care and infection control practices
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Good observational skills to notice changes in condition
• Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and staff
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
