Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents as a frontline caregiver
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and feeding
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers, ambulation and mobility to promote independence
• Maintain clear, professional documentation of care and patient observations
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
• Active state CNA registration or eligibility to register in New Mexico
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient-centered care
• Ability to work overnight 12-hour shifts and function effectively on NOC
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with good teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care and ability to assist with ADLs
• Skilled in taking and documenting vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control best practices
• Good observational skills and ability to recognize changes in patient condition
• Basic documentation and charting skills
• Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
