Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility support, using proper body mechanics and lift equipment
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any concerning changes to the nursing team
• Support meal assistance and feeding when needed, honoring resident preferences and dietary guidelines
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and visitors
• Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Document resident care thoroughly and timely to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Participate in shift handoffs and teamwork to support seamless resident care

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in North Carolina (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtained upon hire
• Up-to-date immunizations and willingness to complete facility-required health screenings
• Clear background check and drug screen as part of the hiring process
• Comfortable with physical aspects of the role including standing, lifting, and assisting residents
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; a caring attitude and patient-focused mindset

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a state-approved CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and basic clinical skills
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Infection control and proper use of PPE
• Basic charting and documentation practices
• Observation skills to notice subtle changes in resident condition
• Professional communication and teamwork in a healthcare setting
