Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor and report resident changes by taking vital signs and documenting observations accurately
• Support meal assistance and safe feeding practices while respecting resident preferences
• Maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Assist with transfers, positioning, and use of assistive devices to promote resident comfort and dignity
• Contribute to accurate charting and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in care planning and follow-through to help residents meet their goals

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification; Travel LNA (T-LNA) experience a strong plus
• Valid state-required credentials for Vermont or ability to obtain Vermont LNA authorization
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable with basic clinical assessments, documentation, and resident-centered care
• Able to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Reliable, team-oriented, with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education

• Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant program or equivalent and active LNA certification
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs, vital sign measurement, and safe resident handling
• Familiarity with common long-term care practices and infection control
• Basic charting skills and ability to learn electronic medical record systems
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Teamwork mindset and clear, respectful communication with staff and families
