Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort at every interaction
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident responses, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
- Follow individualized care plans and physician orders to ensure consistent, high-quality care
- Document care accurately and timely in the resident record to maintain clear communication
- Promote a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification (VT or NH as applicable)
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant program and state registry in good standing
- Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility required health screenings and immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work evening shifts as scheduled
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program and current LNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Competence with basic nursing assistant duties: ADLs, transfers, feeding assistance, and toileting
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control best practices and safety procedures
- Good charting and documentation habits to support clear care transitions
- Team player attitude, strong communication skills, and empathy for residents and families
- Comfortable working in long-term care or skilled nursing environments
