Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning while following care plans
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Support meal service and timely feeding assistance while respecting resident preferences
- Document care and observations clearly and promptly in the facility charting system
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident comfort and dignity
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and facility policies
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification—NH or VT authorization preferred
- Demonstrated comfort working 12+ hour day shifts and adapting to per-diem schedules
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Good communication skills and a team-first attitude with residents and staff
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings/immunizations
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar clinical settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved nurse aide training program required for LNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Competence in ADLs, basic patient hygiene, and mobility assistance
- Ability to take and record accurate vital signs and recognize changes
- Familiarity with resident-centered care and dignity-focused practices
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively under direction
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during busy shifts
