Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — help with bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
- Assist with safe transfers and positioning to promote comfort and prevent injury
- Document resident care clearly and promptly in charting systems
- Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Communicate effectively with nurses, residents and families to ensure coordinated care
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented atmosphere that respects resident dignity
Qualifications
- Active LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant) credential — valid in VT or NH
- Completion of a state-approved LNA training program
- Previous hands-on patient care experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Willingness to work per-diem shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays as scheduled
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved LNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Basic patient mobility and transfer techniques
- Infection prevention and standard precautions
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
- Reliable documentation and attention to detail
