Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients during the night shift
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
- Help with safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
- Adhere to infection control practices and facility policies to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) credential (NH or VT as required by facility)
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Reliable, professional attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in long-term care or acute care settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic patient care
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety principles
- Ability to observe, document, and communicate patient status clearly
- Strong interpersonal skills and a calm presence on night shifts
- Ability to follow care plans and collaborate with nursing staff
