Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to promote independence
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
- Support mealtime and feeding assistance while respecting residents' preferences
- Document care activities clearly and timely in the patient record
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team to follow care plans and improve outcomes
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
Qualifications
- Active GNA or Nursing Assistant certification as required by state regulations
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working evening/night shifts and providing direct resident care
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Passion for compassionate, person-centered care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved GNA or nursing assistant training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing care and resident assistance skills
- Ability to take and report vital signs and observe changes in condition
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Good documentation and time management skills
- Respectful, patient-centered communication with residents and families
- Teamwork and ability to follow care plans
