Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility
- Monitor and document vital signs, changes in condition, and report concerns to nursing staff
- Support meal assistance and safe feeding practices, honoring dietary instructions
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
- Communicate clearly with the care team and families to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in care planning and follow individualized care plans for each resident
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (or equivalent nursing assistant credential) preferred
- Active basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Comfortable performing physical tasks related to resident care
- Strong communication skills and a teamwork-minded attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification or completion of a certified nursing assistant program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care practices and safety procedures
- Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
- Ability to document care clearly and follow care plans
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and interdisciplinary teams
