Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately to patients for diagnostic imaging
- Operate and troubleshoot nuclear imaging equipment (SPECT/PET/gamma cameras) to capture high-quality images
- Prepare and calculate radioactive doses while following strict radiation safety protocols
- Perform patient assessments, explain procedures clearly, and ensure patient comfort throughout imaging
- Maintain accurate patient records, document procedures, and ensure compliance with facility policies
- Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and the care team to support timely diagnoses
- Follow state and federal regulations for radiation handling, storage, and disposal
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of clinical nuclear medicine experience required
- Certification such as ARRT(N) or NMTCB preferred or equivalent state credential
- Current state technologist license for Oklahoma (or eligible for licensure)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Ability to pass facility compliance checks and submit documentation at least one week prior to start
- Must provide accurate work history and permanent address at time of submission
- Local candidates within 50 miles will be considered at a reduced travel rate (facility policy)
Education
- Associate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related allied health field, or equivalent clinical training
- Completion of an accredited nuclear medicine technologist program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety and radioactive dosage calculations
- Familiarity with SPECT, PET, and gamma camera imaging techniques
- Comfortable with PACS and electronic health record systems
- Patient-centered communication and compassionate care skills
- Detail-oriented with good documentation and time-management abilities
- Ability to follow facility protocols and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment
