Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub in for a variety of advanced and complex surgical procedures, supporting the surgical team with focus and professionalism.
- Set up and maintain sterile fields, instrument tables, and supplies so each case runs smoothly and safely.
- Anticipate surgeon preferences and needs during procedures, adapting quickly and using sound clinical judgment.
- Disassemble, clean, reassemble, and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization to ensure patient safety and quality control.
- Monitor and inventory supplies and instruments, placing orders as needed to maintain readiness.
- Develop and deliver educational programs and learning aids to support team competency and best practices.
- Provide backup support for emergency cases when additional surgical technicians are required.
- Participate in committees and contribute ideas to improve policies, procedures, and patient care standards.
Qualifications
- Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) required at time of submission.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Must have or obtain seasonal flu vaccination.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program.
- 1 year of surgical technologist experience preferred; new grads with strong training are welcome to apply.

Knowledge & Skills
- Sterile technique and setting up sterile fields
- Surgical instrumentation and case preparation
- Instrument cleaning, processing, and terminal sterilization
- Patient positioning and intraoperative support
- Anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures
- Wound healing principles and familiarity with suturing materials and prosthetics
- Inventory management, quality assurance, and supply ordering
- Strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and teamwork
