Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and compound sterile and non-sterile medications precisely and safely
- Handle hazardous drug compounding with strict adherence to protocols and PPE
- Operate and maintain automated dispensing systems like Pyxis and DoseEdge
- Support neonatal and pediatric medication needs with attention to delicate dosing
- Document accurately in Meditech and Pharmacy Stars (Compounding 360)
- Collaborate with pharmacists and clinical teams to ensure timely medication delivery
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required
- Hospital pharmacy experience required; travel/hospital background preferred
- Demonstrated sterile compounding and hazardous drug compounding experience
- Experience with neonatal and pediatric medication preparation required
- Familiarity with Pyxis systems, DoseEdge, and Meditech preferred
- Ability to work mixed shifts and rotating weekends; 12-hour shift model in place
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - required
Knowledge & Skills
- Sterile compounding best practices and USP standards
- Non-sterile and hazardous drug compounding techniques
- Automated dispensing systems: Pyxis MedStation ES, Pyxis Anesthesia Station ES
- DoseEdge / IV Workflow Management and PakEdge knowledge
- Meditech documentation and Pharmacy Stars (Compounding 360)
- Familiarity with RxMS Scanner, iMobile integration, and Codonics technologies
- Strong attention to detail, infection control, and safe medication handling
