Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff to deliver high quality behavioral health care
- Oversee daily unit operations and ensure clinical standards and policies are met
- Provide hands-on clinical nursing as needed to support the team and patients
- Coordinate staffing, workflows, and direct reports to maintain safe patient ratios
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
- Monitor quality metrics, documentation, and compliance to continuously improve care delivery
- Act as a point of escalation for clinical concerns and support staff in crisis situations
Qualifications
- Active California RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN with direct reports or unit oversight
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and patient-centered care
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or health care related field preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical nursing best practices and behavioral health fundamentals
- Staff supervision, coaching, and performance management
- Patient assessment, care planning, and crisis intervention
- Solid documentation skills and attention to regulatory compliance
- Ability to coordinate care across interdisciplinary teams and community resources
- Flexible problem solving and the ability to adapt schedules to meet patient needs
