Location: Bismarck, North Dakota

End Date: 09-28-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM with rotating weeknight call 3-4 times per week from 3:15 PM - 6:45 AM and every other to every third weekend call from Friday 3:15 PM to Monday 6:45 AM

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

First scrub on open heart procedures including CABG, valve replacements, and aneurysm repairs
Assist with thoracic and vascular cases such as thoracotomies, VATS, and carotid procedures
Cross-train into general OR specialties when CV volumes are low to support the team
Float to the floor as a 1:1 sitter during low case volume periods to ensure continuous patient care
Prepare for open heart cases starting at 6:00 AM when scheduled the day before
Respond to call within 15 minutes and utilize the available sleep room for overnight coverage

Qualifications

Current CST or NCCT certification required
BLS certification required
ND UAP registration required
Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience with open hearts, CABG, and valve procedures
Must be able to first scrub independently
Willingness to cross-train and float as needed to support the department

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of CVOR procedures and open heart techniques
Experience with ECMO, Impella 5.5, and robotic-assisted cases
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with 1-3 cases per day
Comfortable floating between CVOR and general OR specialties
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a family-oriented department
