Roles & Responsibilities

• Initiate and manage life support ventilation systems for critically ill patients
• Perform emergency intubations and arterial punctures with precision and care
• Lead cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts as part of the emergency response team
• Assess and evaluate patients with respiratory disorders to develop personalized treatment plans
• Administer age-specific respiratory treatments and educate patients and families
• Conduct pulmonary function testing and pulse oximetry monitoring
• Provide comprehensive patient education on breathing exercises and medication management
• Perform cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and sleep studies including polysomnography
• Maintain equipment and ensure a safe, clean environment for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii Respiratory Therapist license required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
• BLS/BCLS certification required
• Minimum 5 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Experience with ventilator management and life support systems
• Comfortable working with pediatric and neonatal patients

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and life support systems
• Skilled in arterial punctures and blood gas interpretation
• Strong understanding of pulmonary function testing and pulse oximetry
• Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency airway management
• Knowledge of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and sleep study procedures
• Excellent patient education and communication skills
