Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities using evidence-based methods
• Develop individualized treatment plans that address meaningful goals for each patient
• Deliver high-quality therapy sessions with empathy and clinical skill
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and families to ensure coordinated care
• Document progress and outcomes thoroughly and timely to support clinical decisions
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers to maximize carryover and functional gains
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to program development and quality improvement

Qualifications

• State license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist or eligibility to obtain one
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred or in progress
• Clinical experience in rehabilitation, acute care, or related settings preferred
• Strong patient-centered communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and manage caseload independently
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Professional demeanor, reliable documentation skills, and commitment to best practices

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evaluating and treating speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders
• Familiarity with standardized assessment tools and outcome measures
• Experience with treatment approaches for adult and/or pediatric populations
• Proficient documentation and electronic medical record navigation
• Strong clinical reasoning and goal-driven treatment planning
• Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication strategies is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and team members
