Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages with skill and compassion
• Assess, triage, and stabilize patients rapidly to prioritize care
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and double-check procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain readiness of emergency equipment and supplies to support timely interventions
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance ED workflows and patient safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California (or Compact RN license when applicable)
• Minimum ER/acute care experience preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced emergency department
• Strong assessment, IV, and medication administration skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency assessment and rapid triage
• Cardiac monitoring and response to acute events
• IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with ED equipment and procedures
• Clear, timely clinical documentation and handoffs
• Team communication and collaboration under pressure
