Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support nursing staff by taking and recording vital signs and observations
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to promote mobility
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and patient status
- Follow infection prevention protocols to keep patients and team safe
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team to ensure continuity
- Respond promptly to patient needs and escalate changes in condition to nursing staff
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required where applicable
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements
- Comfortable with 12-hour day shifts and the physical demands of patient care
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
- Previous experience in acute care, long-term care, or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed accredited CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADLs, mobility assistance
- Familiarity with documentation and charting best practices
- Good observational skills to notice and report changes in patient condition
- Teamwork mindset and ability to follow direction from nursing staff
- Basic infection control and patient safety knowledge
