Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform portable and department X-rays with accuracy and care to support timely diagnoses
• Provide imaging services in the Emergency Department and general radiology suite
• Operate PACS (McKesson) and document studies in EPIC efficiently and professionally
• Ensure patient safety by following radiation safety protocols and using required badges
• Collaborate with technologists, transporters, and radiologists to maintain smooth workflow
• Manage high-volume days (roughly 20–50 studies) while maintaining image quality and patient comfort
• Participate in orientation and ongoing department processes to support consistent patient care

Qualifications

• WA state Department of Health imaging license in hand (MUST HAVE)
• ARRT registered (Certified Radiologic Technologist)
• BLS certification required
• Radiation badge required (facility will not provide; employer responsibility)
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Preferred: at least 1 year of experience, ideally in a large, fast-paced hospital
• Experience with GE, Siemens, or Shimadzu equipment and portable X-ray workflows
• Familiarity with McKesson PACS and EPIC charting systems
• Not eligible if employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity in the past year

Education

• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program and ARRT registration required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in general X-ray and portable imaging techniques
• Comfort with Emergency Department imaging and working with trauma cases during the day
• Proficiency using McKesson PACS and EPIC for imaging workflow and documentation
• Ability to manage a variable daily volume while prioritizing patient safety
• Clear communication and teamwork with nurses, transport staff, and radiologists
• Time management, attention to detail, and reliable clinical judgment
