Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients’ conditions during the overnight period, recognizing changes quickly and acting decisively
• Deliver high-quality nursing care including medication administration, wound care, and treatments per orders
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe handoffs and continuity of care
• Document clinical findings, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Respond to emergencies calmly and efficiently, initiating interventions and escalating when needed
• Advocate for patients and families, providing education and emotional support during their stay
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and follow infection control best practices

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California (or eligibility to practice in California)
• Current BLS required; ACLS and other specialty certifications encouraged when applicable
• Medical-surgical and/or telemetry experience preferred for this MST role
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Professional communication skills and the ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but ADN holders with experience are welcome

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring, with strong clinical judgment
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Time management and prioritization during overnight shifts
• Effective communication and teamwork with physicians, techs, and support staff
