Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical/telemetry unit
• Monitor telemetry and promptly report clinical changes to the care team
• Perform thorough assessments and develop timely nursing interventions
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain infection control standards and contribute to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (California) required or eligible to obtain
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous experience in medical-surgical and/or telemetry nursing preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently on per-diem night shifts and integrate quickly with unit teams

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry rhythm recognition and basic arrhythmia management
• IV therapy, medication administration, and infusion pump operation
• Patient assessment and clinical prioritization in acute care
• Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation best practices
• Team collaboration, patient advocacy, and time management
