Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the operating room with sterile instruments and supplies
• Assist surgeons by anticipating needs and passing instruments efficiently
• Maintain strict sterile technique and uphold OR safety standards
• Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts accurately and timely
• Collaborate closely with nurses, anesthetists, and surgical staff for smooth cases
• Document perioperative care and communicate patient status during handoffs
• Support turnover between cases to keep the OR schedule on track

Qualifications

• CST certification required
• ORT experience or certification aligned with operating room practice
• Minimum 2+ years of operating room experience as indicated in the posting
• Current state licensure or ability to obtain required credentials for assignment
• Strong ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of sterile technique and infection control
• Familiarity with common surgical instruments and procedural flow
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and prioritize tasks under pressure
• Clear communication skills for effective teamwork in the OR
• Strong attention to detail for counts, documentation, and safety checks
