Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients, including assistance with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Assist with patient mobility and safe transfers, prioritizing dignity and comfort
- Document care and observations clearly and promptly in the patient's record
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to support individualized care plans
- Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and follow infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in California (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization/TB screening requirements
- Comfortable working per-diem shifts and adapting to different unit needs
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
Education
- Completion of an approved CNA training program; high school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in personal care, ADLs, and safe patient handling
- Proficient in taking and documenting vitals and patient observations
- Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with clinical teams
- Good time management, attention to detail, and infection control awareness
- Compassionate bedside manner and ability to support diverse patient populations
