Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care and continuous cardiac monitoring
- Assess patients regularly and respond to changes in condition promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-focused care
- Document assessments, care plans and interventions in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for practice in California
- Telemetry experience and comfort with cardiac monitoring
- Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or ability to obtain
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and EKG rhythm recognition
- Venipuncture/IV therapy and medication administration
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
- Patient assessment, critical thinking and clinical decision-making
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
