Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients rapidly to prioritize care in the emergency setting
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, IV therapy, and wound management
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Monitor and document patient condition, escalating changes promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
• Respond to emergency situations with calm, evidence-based interventions
• Contribute to a safe, efficient ER environment by following policies and best practices

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or eligible to obtain)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) strongly preferred
• Previous emergency nursing experience preferred (per-diem or full time)
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to meet facility health requirements
• Comfortable working per-diem schedule and adapting to varying patient volume

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and critical thinking skills in high-acuity settings
• Proficient in IV insertion, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
• Accurate documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize multiple patients effectively
• Patient- and family-centered approach with strong teaching skills
