Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and interventions, including ventilator management and weaning
• Perform ABG analysis and interpret results to guide patient treatment
• Administer and manage noninvasive ventilation therapies such as CPAP and BiPAP
• Deliver chest physiotherapy (CPT) and other respiratory treatments with excellent bedside care
• Assess patients, develop treatment plans, and adjust therapies based on clinical status
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and physicians to optimize patient outcomes
• Document care accurately in the EMR and maintain clear communication during shift handoffs
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment (Servo, Hamilton, V60, Astral) safely

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital RRT experience (current)
• Comfortable with mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory modalities
• Meditech EMR experience preferred by the director
• Trauma experience is a plus and will be considered first
• Team-player attitude, strong critical thinking, and patient-focused care approach

Education

• RRT credential required (completion of accredited respiratory therapy program preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator modes
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
• Noninvasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP) setup and monitoring
• Chest physiotherapy (CPT) techniques and respiratory treatments
• Familiarity with Servo, Hamilton, V60 and Astral ventilators
• Clinical assessment, triage and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Experience using Meditech electronic medical record is beneficial
